Deathwing command squad

Last squad for my 3k Dark Angels apocaypse army: Belial's command squad.

Full paint
Belial and its command squad.

This squad is the final step in a long time project, started in semtember 2013. All the bitz I needed to create this squad took me years to get.

Bases come from Dragon Forge Miniatures, shoulders pads from Scibor Miniatures and all the minis are based on the Deathwing knights squad box.

Belial's equipped with Canis Wolfborn's lightning claws and a Chaos Space Marines Terminator Lord cape. Its base was realised with a Gales Workshop Cities of death floor and a lion head I founded at Scibor Miniatures.

Forge (re)Master

Here is the 2009 Forge Master with a new painting scheme. I think it's better than before, with more Highlights and paintint work. Repainting all my 3000 pts army is totally worth it. (pics soon)

[HQ] Captain Tavern

Because the Land Raider painting work doesn't advance sufficiently to be presented, I'll show you an old mini: the Captain Tarvern.

Based on the Black Reach mini, I had some difficulties with it. I had to paint it in one block, and I really don't like that. But it was a gift so I had to do my best.

A terminator version is panted, but I consider it as a work in progress: the banner isn't made.

Challenge of the End of the world: back 2 work

You believed that the Challenge was over, for lack of combatants? No way! I continue to prepare the 3000 pts necessary for January 1st and the Apocalypse game envisaged with WaterGun.
All I have to paint to be ready is 2 terminators, a Crusader and the command squad.

[HQ] Forge Master

It took me a very long time to get the Doom Angels' Forge Master ready.
The mini preparation was long. In 2009, Finecast minis didn't exist and particular models where made in white metal, not plastic. And when you had it all shiny and ready, it was time to take the drill and prepare the four backpack arms to stay in place. Gluing ins't enough when you want to have a good and strong result.

Then after having my Forge Master full painted, I stopped. I wasn't satisfied with the base. It was empty and too classic.

After one complete month, I fouded the solution. I completly destroyed a square base from a Cities of Death set, cutted it in three parts. After that, I painted servo-skulls and an Empire General's chĂ©rubin.
I setted them on black painted wires to make them "fly"... et voilĂ :

[HQ] Archivists

In 2009, my first HQ choice was a librarian in terminator armor. He was wainting in the darkness since I started to play 40k and I really wanted to paint him.

The armor was painted in Orkhide Shade because I don't want to have an army with as many colors as functions. The Doom Angels are one and stay like this. The blue color was limited to the left paldron and the psychic protection.

After some games, this mini was replaced by a chaplain, then by the captain Tavern my favorite.
In 2011, Archibald is back on the battle field! He has losed some weight and his terminator armor.

Like the first time I didn't paint his armor in blue. But this time, I modified the mini. The left arm was changed for a plastic one, with a DeathWing paldron.

I added a flying skull because Archibals is an HQ choice.

[HQ] Chaplains

[Because I am moving from a little appartment to a big house, news from the End of the World Challenge are deferred to the next week. Sorry.]
I decided to paint a flying chaplain after the biggest fail I ever saw in a game. A half tactical marines squad was charged by a Dark Angel chaplain. He didn't make anything. The Emperor was with the Doom Angels. So I decided to paint one and see what he can do on the field ^-^. As you can see, the flying pack was changed for an old  one.

The second chaplain was painted because I needed one without reactors. I choosed this model because their was hooded angel in the front of the armor. I changed the left arm for a plasma gun.

For both of them, the armor is green instead of black, because the Doom Angels are all as one. All of them wear the same color.  The only accepted difference is on the shoulder pad.
